The Young Learners program of CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH is designed by the world’s leading experts in language teaching within the primary education stage, that is, between 6 and 11 years old.
In January 2018, CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH updated the range of exams for boys and girls in accordance with the most recent research work on language learning and teaching. This range of exams is specifically designed for the youngest learners, constituting a very effective and helpful tool at the beginning of their path in learning English.
Each stage has its own objectives and the levels are interconnected in such a way that the child keeps reaching levels and competencies continuously and efficiently.
At the end of each level, performance in English language skills is assessed and the student is recommended to take the official exam to obtain a CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH certification. This is truly motivating for boys and girls and is an experience they do not usually forget.
Students learn English in an academic way using only official materials, and the teaching staff complements the contents with other specific materials for each stage provided by CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH, which we incorporate into their learning.
NOVACADÈMIA trains more than 200 primary stage students each year in different schools in Barcelona and the Vallès.

NOVACADÈMIA gives you an official level test and a personal interview before the start of the course, which allows us to segment the groups by level and not by age in the case of children and young people. At the end of the course, a complete final level test is carried out that allows us to analyze and verify your progress and the level of your performance within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Primary Education (Young Learners) courses consist of between 1.5 and 3 hours per week depending on the levels and the center. Check the schedules we offer in Barcelona in 3 different locations and at our training center in Caldes de Montbui.

NOVACADÈMIA presents primary students for the official YOUNG LEARNERS exams of CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH. The Cambridge English Young Learners (YLE) exams are a series of motivating and fun exams aimed at children who are in primary education.
Thousands of parents around the world choose the YLE exams to guide their children’s learning and at the same time be able to check their children’s progress in English following internationally recognized standards.
At NOVACADÈMIA we offer the 3 existing exams within this program: Pre A1 Starters, A1 Movers, and A2 Flyers.
Before presenting students for these exams, a mock exam is carried out in March/April in the same class to see if they are prepared to take them. The official exams take place in the months of May, June, or July.
For children who have been studying English for some years, the Young Learners exams are a good opportunity to:
- Motivate their learning by setting objectives and showing their progress.
- Gain confidence in themselves when facing an exam.
- Develop their spoken and written English.
In addition, in the Young Learners exams, there is no pass or fail: students are assessed in the three skills through shields, and all of them receive the certificate.
